01 / INTRODUCTION

Overview

PhoenixMantis Image (v0.2.0) helps you discover images on HTTP(S) pages, download them one-by-one or in batch, and edit them entirely in the browser. Heavy pixel work runs in Rust/WebAssembly; optional background removal uses an on-device U2Netp model — nothing is uploaded for editing.

Private by default: gallery power tools, a layered editor (crop, text, filters, undo/redo), plus Favicon Maker, SVG Maker, and Background Removal — all local.

Key Features

Smart Detection

Finds <img>, picture sources, lazy-loaded assets, and CSS backgrounds — including dynamically inserted images.

Page Overlay

Optional Download / Edit controls on the page. Toggle from the popup; preference is remembered.

Gallery & ZIP

Filter by format, multi-select, batch download, ZIP export, local upload, and blank design presets.

Local Editor

Layers, multi-line text, crop, filters, watermark, locks, undo/redo, and PNG / JPEG / WebP export.

Background Removal

U2Netp runs on-device in the editor and Background Removal Lab — no cloud round-trip.

Browser Tools

Favicon Maker and SVG Maker for quick assets from any selected image.
